At Kaizen, we have one question for you:

Who are you becoming?

Precision Analytics through DEXA, RMR, & VO2 Max

FAQs

Dual Energy Xray Absorptiometry (DEXA) is considered the Gold Standard for body composition. This is because DEXA gives you Body fat mass %, lean mass %, bone density, and Visceral Adipose Tissue (VAT). These factors give great insight into overall health and wellness.

The only two other pieces of technology capable of giving you the information comparable to DEXA is CT and MRI.

Computed Tomography (CT) exposes humans to high levels of ionizing radiation (250-500 times more than DEXA), is expensive and only available through a doctor’s referral.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is incredible expensive and typically only administered with a doctors referral.

Although the InBody, BodPod, or hydrostatic weighing at your gym may give you information on your body fat % and lean mass, there’s a lot more to your composition. To get a more comprehensive understanding of your body composition schedule a DEXA today with Kaizen Wellness.

We recommend scheduling a DEXA scan every 6 months to a year. If you are a serious athlete or are in the midst of extensive body re-composition, scanning every 3 months can prove very helpful.
